Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Businesses.ie website and services at businesses.ie (the "Service"), operated by Configurix Ltd. (Company No. 808025), a company registered in Ireland ("we", "us", "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

1. Definitions

  • "Service" — the Businesses.ie website, application, APIs, and all related features.
  • "User" — any individual or entity accessing or using the Service.
  • "Account" — a registered user profile on the Service.
  • "Report" — a company information report generated through the Service.
  • "Subscription" — a recurring paid plan granting access to premium features.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a legally binding agreement to use the Service. By creating an Account, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your Account.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your Account at info@businesses.ie.

4. Service Description

Businesses.ie provides access to Irish company data sourced from the Companies Registration Office (CRO) and other publicly available records. The Service includes:

  • Company search and profile viewing
  • Company reports with director, financial, and filing information
  • Watchlist monitoring and change alerts
  • Subscription-based premium features

5. Subscriptions & Payments

  • Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) as selected at checkout.
  • All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.
  • All prices are listed in Euros (€) and are the total amount payable. No VAT is charged.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the next billing date.
  • You can manage your subscription and billing via your Account page or the Billing Portal.

6. Individual Report Purchases

  • Individual company reports may be purchased for a one-off fee.
  • Once a report has been generated and delivered, the purchase is non-refundable.
  • Reports are for your personal or internal business use only and may not be redistributed or resold.

7. Cancellation & Refunds

  • You may cancel your Subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • All subscription fees are non-refundable. Report purchases (\u20ac9.99) are non-refundable once the PDF has been generated.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service beyond normal usage.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Redistribute, resell, or sublicense any data or reports obtained from the Service without prior written consent.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers and networks.
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • Reproduce the Service, or any service substantially similar to it, using data extracted from Businesses.ie.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your Account if you violate these terms.

8a. Restrictions on CRO-Sourced Data

Company information made available through the Service originates from the Companies Registration Office (CRO) and is supplied to us under the terms of the CRO Webservice agreement. As a condition of using the Service you agree that you will not:

  • use, distribute, publish, supply or apply any CRO-sourced data — in whole, in part, or in any reformatted form — for direct marketing purposes to home or residential addresses;
  • impose any lesser restriction on your own customers or recipients to whom you may onward-supply such data;
  • hold yourself out as being associated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Companies Registration Office or Configurix Ltd.;
  • use the CRO name, logo, or branding in any advertising, marketing or promotional material.

You acknowledge that information sourced from the CRO has been supplied to the CRO by or on behalf of companies and other persons pursuant to statutory obligation; the CRO has not verified that information and gives no warranty as to its accuracy, adequacy or completeness, and neither do we.

9. Intellectual Property

  • The Service, including its design, code, branding, and original content, is owned by Configurix Ltd. and protected by intellectual property laws.
  • Company data sourced from the CRO is public record. Our value-added analysis, formatting, and reports are proprietary.
  • You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose.

10. Data Accuracy & Disclaimer

  • Company data is sourced from publicly available records and is provided on an "as is" basis.
  • While we strive for accuracy, we do not warrant that all data is complete, current, or error-free.
  • The Service is not a substitute for professional legal, financial, or accounting advice. You should independently verify any information before making business decisions.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Irish and EU law:

  • Configurix Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Configurix Ltd., its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or breach of these Terms.

13. Service Availability

  • We aim to maintain the Service's availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
  • We may suspend or modify the Service for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control without prior notice.
  • We reserve the right to discontinue the Service or any feature with reasonable notice.

14. Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate your Account at any time for breach of these Terms, with or without notice.
  • Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including liability, indemnification, and intellectual property) shall remain in effect.

15. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on our website. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
