Our Story

Businesses.ie was created with a simple goal: make official Irish company data easy to find, easy to read, and useful for everyone — from entrepreneurs checking a potential supplier, to accountants verifying a client's CRO status, to journalists researching corporate ownership.

Ireland's Companies Registration Office (CRO) holds records on over 800,000 registered entities. That data is public by law, but accessing it has traditionally required navigating government systems that were not designed for everyday users. We saw an opportunity to bridge that gap.

Our Mission: Making Public Data Accessible

All company information displayed on Businesses.ie is sourced from lawful, publicly available records held by the Companies Registration Office. We do not collect, store, or display any data that is not already part of the public register.

Our role is to present this lawful public information in a clean, searchable format — adding value through better search, structured profiles, director cross-referencing, filing timelines, and monitoring tools. We believe that when public data is genuinely accessible, it benefits everyone:

• Business owners can verify the companies they work with
• Professionals can perform due diligence quickly
• Researchers and journalists can investigate corporate structures
• The public can check any registered entity in Ireland

What We Offer

Businesses.ie provides free access to core company details including company name, CRO number, type, status, registered address, directors, and recent filings. Premium features — such as full filing history, financial data, PDF reports, and company monitoring — are available through our subscription plans.

Data Accuracy & Compliance

We synchronise our records with the CRO regularly to ensure accuracy. All data processing complies with the Data Protection Acts 1988–2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Company registration information is public record under Irish law and is made available in accordance with applicable legislation.
