What does 'Strike Off Listed' mean?

Under section 727 of the Companies Act 2014, the CRO can strike a company off the register if it fails to file annual returns or financial statements. Before doing so, the company is published in the official Iris Oifigiúil journal and listed publicly. This page mirrors that public listing.

Companies usually have a window of around 90 days from the formal notice to bring their filings up to date. If they fail to do so, the company is dissolved and its assets become property of the State (bona vacantia).

Consequences for directors

A strike-off carries serious consequences for directors and members. Directors may be held personally liable for company debts incurred while the company was non-compliant. Banks and creditors regularly check this list when assessing risk.

If your company appears here in error, file the outstanding annual returns and any related fees with the CRO immediately, or apply for restoration if the company has already been struck off.
