CRO CORE is the official Irish Companies Registration Office system for filing returns and downloading certified documents. Businesses.ie is a free search and reporting interface built on top of the same CRO data. The two are not competitors — they serve different jobs.

Which is easier?
Businesses.ie is faster for read-only research — no account, no per-document fee, results come back as a readable company profile. CORE is the system of record: you must use it any time the law or another party requires the official document.
Most people end up using both: Businesses.ie to find the company, a Businesses.ie company report to understand it, then CORE when they need a certified filing.
Use our CRO company report chooser to decide between an official filing, a consolidated summary and a specialist credit product.
